The Arc of Atlantic County has a long history of providing support services to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a variety of community-based housing options.
In keeping with the belief that housing should afford people the opportunity to live and interact with people without disabilities, The Arc supports more than 175 people, throughout Atlantic County, in a variety of community-based housing options.
When deciding on what community-based option is best suited for a person’s unique needs, our staff will work with the person and their support team to ensure that the individual lives in an environment that supports their health and safety needs while also maintaining their expectations for family contact, transportation, a social life, and other important community connections.
All people who live in residential services with The Arc of Atlantic County must have received eligibility through the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). In addition, individuals’ considering residential placement that is funded by the Division of Developmental Disabilities must be Medicaid eligible and be able to be served on either the Supports Waiver or the Community Care Waiver (CCW). Persons’ who elect a private pay option do not need to obtain or maintain Medicaid or waiver eligibility.
