Do you love GOLF? We need volunteers to mentor our golfers to the GOLD at two Special Olympic events!
Volunteers must know how to golf and be over the age of 18 to be considered.
Volunteers must also be available to compete in two Special Olympics golf competitions
- Sunday, Sept 25 in Buena, NJ from 9 and 5 pm (tee times not known until closer to the date)
- Saturday, October 29 in Ewing, NJ at Mountain View Golf Club – tee times start between 9 am and 1 pm
Volunteers must be willing to complete Special Olympics Unified Golf Partner paperwork and take a short on-line course (15 minutes)
Essential duties will include:
The purpose is to assist in instructing the athlete on golf skills and etiquette by pairing with a Special Olympics athlete in alternate shot golf and be willing to go out on golf course with their golfer and play a minimum of three nine-hole rounds between now and August 31.
Golfers have been practicing on the driving range and putting course for past 5 weeks. Many have been participating in program for many years, others may be first year golfers. Golf rounds can be done at Twisted Dunes in Egg Harbor Township at no cost to golf partner or athlete during non-peak hours.
The Arc golf program practices every Monday from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at Twisted Dunes. Golf partners are welcomed to attend and meet the athletes.
