Salary:     commensurate with experience; Professional, Exempt

Education/Experience:  Associates’ degree in a related field and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a Human Resources position or a High school diploma and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a Human Resources position.  Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems a plus.  Must be knowledgeable in the use of the Microsoft Office suite.

Communication Skills:  Must be able to respectfully communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing with all levels of staff, individuals who use our services, family members, and other persons in the community.  Must be able to use good judgment in dealing with staff related issues.  Must work well independently and maintain a good working relationship with supervisor and other departments.

Primary Function:  Serve as a resource for employees in the areas of employee relations, compensation, benefits, and career opportunities. Assist with the recruitment and training of new employees. In the absence of the Human Resource Director, ensure the department continues to operate smoothly. Provide information about additional resources in the community not provided by The Arc including subsidized housing, affordable care and welfare programs.
